This study aims to analyze the perceptions of children who are victims of broken homes towards the future using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. This analysis shows that children who are victims of broken homes construct new meanings that are different from common social myths. Denotatively, the bitter experience of family breakdown makes them question traditional values such as the importance of higher education and a successful future. Connotatively, behaviors such as choosing to live freely, enjoying being with friends, and not pursuing academic achievement too much are symbols of resistance to social demands. In Barthes' framework, these children deconstruct the myth that a bright future can only be achieved through formal paths set by society. They create alternative meanings of success as "living enough and freely." These findings reveal how social experiences shape the construction of new meanings in the face of pressure from dominant norms. The researcher used qualitative methods, collecting data through interviews and documentation. The researcher used the Symeotic analysis technique with Roland Barthes' Symeotic model. Data analysis was carried out by examining signs through three stages. In Roland Barthes' theory, namely denomination, connotation and myth. The results of this study indicate that broken home children have a complex and multi-interpretive construction of future meaning, which is influenced by their life experiences and interactions with the surrounding environment.
